KIA Motors Nigeria Unveils Multi Billion Naira Assembly Plant In Lagos

In a bid to maintain its position as the leading brand in automobile in Nigeria, KIA Motors Nigeria, the leading Korean brand in Nigeria, has unveiled a new assembly plant, United Vehicle Assembly Limited (UVAL) in Lagos commissioned to produce 25,000 vehicles per annum. In a working visit to the assembly plant by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Olusegun Aganga expressed his delight and appreciation on the successful completion of the new plant. According to Dr Aganga at the media chat with journalists after the inspection, he stated “I am pleasantly surprised at the level of success and the advance technology of this plant. I have visited different auto assembly plants across the globe and I can tell you that with the level of the quality assurance control and the sophistication of the equipment of this assembly plant, it can compete with international standard.” The CEO of UVAL, Mr Jacky Hathiramani, stated at the event that, “the move to establish an assembly plant stems the tide of investment aimed at Nigeria and also keying into the country’s automotive policy.
