Billionaire Peter Lim’s Company Acquires Ronaldo’s Image Right

Billionaire Peter Lim’s company Mint Media has acquired the image rights for football star Cristiano Ronaldo, the firm announced on Monday (Jun 29). Under the deal, Hong Kong-based Mint Media will own and administer all of Ronaldo’s image rights, except for those related to his club Real Madrid, for six years. Ronaldo has an existing management contract, which will be retained by Mint Media, the company added. Image rights are the proprietary rights a person has in his or her image, akin to a trademark for a logo or a company’s name, or a copyright for artistic work, said Mint Media. Mr Lim said the partnership with the Portuguese forward will provide further growth and exposure for Ronaldo’s brand in Asia. “Ronaldo is not just a great soccer player, he is also a very popular personality. I am confident that the Cristiano Ronaldo brand will continue to grow,” he said. “I have always admired Peter’s entreprenerial savvy and his ability to grow businesses,” Ronaldo said. “He is also a good friend whom I have known for a while. I believe he will be a good partner and a good value adds for my brand.” Mr Lim also has a stake in Spanish football club Valencia. http://perfectbrandsng.com/billionaire-peter-lims-company-acquires-ronaldos-image-right/
